Protected Areas

National Parks & Game Management Areas

National wildlife reserves in Zambia are of two kinds.  National Parks are areas where human settlement is precluded (except for staff and visitors) and biological and physical resources are protected.  Game Management Areas (GMAs) are areas where human settlement is permitted and the hunting of wildlife is licensed.
