Welcome to the Kafue River Trust

The Kafue river basin lies entirely within Zambia and covers an area of 157,000 km2 – somewhat larger than the area of England and Wales.  Remarkably, almost half is recognised, either nationally or internationally, as ecologically important.

Yet the area faces growing pressure from a rapidly growing population, development projects and climate change.

People need nature to thrive. The Kafue River Trust works to increase awareness of the natural value of the river basin and the pressures upon it, so that better decisions can be taken on its future.

We need support from those who share these aims and who would like to help us.  If that is you, please contact us via the Contact Form here.
